EAST TREMONT - An elderly man was critically injured when a fire ripped through three homes in East Tremont today.

Fire officials say the fire began at about 1 a.m. and continued for hours on Arthur Avenue.

Authorities say 79-year-old Henry Gibson was critically injured in the fire and taken to Jacobi Medical Center.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
