MELROSE - A Bronx man says he's trying to make life easier for the thousands of commuters in the Bronx who rely on the 5 train.

Ed Garcia Conde says he's on a mission to make the 5 train operate 24 hours a day. Currently, it stops at 10:30 p.m. and resumes service at 6 a.m.

Conde says stopping the train at 10:30 p.m. means many people who work nights have to transfer to two or three different subway lines to get where they need to go.

Conde says he's bringing his request directly to the MTA.
