THE BRONX - An 85-year-old Bronx native turned Floridian is spreading warmth to newborns and young mothers in her home borough.

Marilyn Green knits caps and donates them to Jacobi Medical Center's Linked2Care program, which mentors young, soon-to-be moms. Since 2008, she's sent hundreds of hats from the southern state.

Ellen Walk, of the Women's Health Center at the hospital, says the extra incentive provided by Green helps encourage women to participate in the program.

Green averages about 100 hats per year. She says she knits about one cap per night while watching television with her husband.
