THE BRONX - Police are looking for a repairman imposter who burglarized an elderly woman’s Throgs Neck home Monday morning.

According to investigators, the 75-year-old woman was waiting for someone to repair her boiler, so she didn't think twice about letting the suspect inside her house, which is located near Lafayette and Vincent avenues.

They say the man only stayed for about 10 minutes before claiming he had to go get some parts. After he left, the victim noticed her dresser drawers were open and cash was missing.

Cops released a sketch in hopes of catching the suspect, who's described as being white and in his 50s with a black mustache. He was wearing sunglasses at the time.

The NYPD is offering tips to prevent similar crimes, which they refer to as deception burglaries. Everyone should verify the identity of the person at their home before letting them in, and never give out financial information, such as a credit card, until you're absolutely sure the person is who they say they are.
