THE BRONX - Police are looking for a repairman imposter who burglarized an elderly woman’s Throgs Neck home Monday morning.

According to investigators, the 75-year-old woman was waiting for someone to repair her boiler, so she didn't think twice about letting the suspect inside her house, which is located near Lafayette and Vincent avenues.

They say the man only stayed for about 10 minutes before claiming he had to go get some parts. After he left, the victim noticed her dresser drawers were open and cash was missing.

The NYPD is offering tips to prevent similar crimes, which they refer to as deception burglaries.
