THE BRONX - A Bronx man is facing several drug related charges after allegedly being caught with $450,000 worth of heroin.

According to police, 29-year-old Emmanuel Valdez was arrested Friday during a traffic stop in New Jersey when officers found a backpack with nearly eight pounds of the drug in it.

Valdez was also wanted in New York City on a cocaine distribution charge dating back to 2006.

He is a Dominican national living in the U.S. illegally.
