NEW YORK - ? Sen. Pedro Espada Jr. plans to speak out about his future with the state Democratic Party today.
The deputy director of the party is asking other Democrats for their support to remove him from the organization. A letter was sent last week encouraging other democrats to oust the leader from the party.
The letter asks other members to revoke Espada's enrollment because he sided with Republicans in a coup that tied up Albany last year. The senator is also at the center of a civil lawsuit that charges him with siphoning $14 million from a local non-profit.
