THE BRONX - Esquire Magazine's food and travel columnist, John Mariani, recently wrote a column stating that the Bronx has some of the city's best food.

In his article, Mariani says the fact that food critics overlook the Bronx in favor of Brooklyn, "smells of both ignorance and outright snobbery."

One of the eateries Mariani highlights is Kasike Mofongo House in Fordham. The owner of the restaurant, Santos Luis, couldn't help but agree with Mariani, saying that when people come into his establishment, they call it beautiful.

Mariani also highlights the markets and food shops in the Bronx, noting that it has the real Little Italy as opposed to the "tourist attraction in lower Manhattan."
