Evacuated residents stuck in shelter

THE BRONX - Residents of 1204 Shakespeare Ave. are still living at a school shelter days after they were evacuated from their homes due to safety concerns.

Nearly 50 people were asked to leave the building after the fire escape was deemed unsafe over the weekend. The residents were aided by the Red Cross and housed in a temporary shelter at P.S. 114.

The building management says it is working to get the building fixed. However, no inspections with the city are planned. Residents say they just want to go back to their homes.
