THE BRONX - One Bronx mother is worried about keeping her apartment warm this winter as the temperature outside starts to plummet.

Evelyn Medina says that every year she struggles with inconsistent heat at the Monroe Houses in Soundview, and that her neighbors have the same problem.

Medina says she already went three days without heat over the weekend, and had to move her 14-year-old special needs son into her bedroom so that they could share a portable heater.

Isabel Gutierrez is another tenant in the same boat. She says the cold is taking a toll on her daughter, who suffers from asthma.
