Ex-Fordham professor replacing controversial principal

THE BRONX - A former Harvey School faculty member and Fordham University professor was hired to replace a controversial Bronx school principal who was fired for writings that were deemed racist.

The Archdiocese of New York says it has hired John Riley to replace Frank Borzellieri at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. Borzellieri was fired after the archdiocese found that he espoused white supremacist views that were at odds with the church's mission and values.

The school has a majority of black and Hispanic students.
