NEW YORK - (AP) - Two former New York City police officers aretrying to get their misconduct convictions thrown out after beingacquitted of rape. Lawyers for ex-officers Franklin Mata and Kenneth Moreno filedpapers Tuesday asking a judge to toss their misdemeanor convictionsfor technical reasons. They say they may raise more questions after assessing unairedfootage related to the case from a documentary about the Manhattandistrict attorney's sex crimes unit. Prosecutors gave them thematerial Monday. Prosecutors have two weeks to respond in court. A judge may rulein August, when the two are now due to be sentenced. The case stems from the officers' December 2008 encounter with adrunken woman they were called to help get home.
