Fallen transformer crushes van in Bronxwood

THE BRONX - A fallen transformer in Bronxwood not only crushed a van, but it's also part of the destruction that has caused widespread power outages in the borough.

The pole that held up the transformer seemed to snap in half during Superstorm Sandy, causing it to fall to the street and shatter the windshield of the vehicle below it.

Con Edison says it's working feverishly to make repair damage and get the lights back on as quickly as possible.
