THE BRONX - A Bronx sanitation worker is being remembered after he suffered a heart attack and passed away while on the job in 2008.

Family and friends gathered at the Nelson Diaz Garage to mark the three-year anniversary of its renaming for him.

They say that Diaz loved the garage and treated it like his second home.

Diaz was also honored with a purple heart for his injuries in Vietnam.
