NEW YORK - New York Knicks fans will have to wait a little longer to see their basketball team hit the floor this season.

NBA Commissioner David Stern has canceled the first two weeks after owners and player failed to reach a new labor deal. Stern says both sides are far apart on virtually all issues.

The season was set to begin Nov. 1.
