Fat, calories step up to the front of food

THE BRONX - Calories, fat and sodium content are all found on the back of grocery store products but that could soon change.

The Grocery Manufacturer?s Association and the Food Market Institute are putting some nutritional information on the front of products in an effort to combat obesity. They say the move will help busy consumers find information faster.

The new packaging will be on most popular products and is set to hit the shelves next year.
