FDNY distributes free batteries, smoke detectors & safety material throughout New York City

The New York Fire Department is reminding residents to stay safe by handing out free batteries, smoke alarms and safety material throughout the city.

THE BRONX - The FDNY is reminding residents to stay safe by handing out free batteries, smoke alarms and safety material throughout the city.

They say they expect to give away nearly 30,000 batteries to keep New Yorkers safe.

The FDNY will be distributing the free material on Saturday afternoon at the K-Mart on Bruckner Boulevard and White Plains Road from 12:00 p.m. until 4 p.m.
