FDNY honors firefighters for bone marrow donations

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN - Members of the FDNY were honored today for their strong commitment to donating bone marrow and saving lives.

Nine names were added to the fire department's "Honor Roll of Life," which consists of bone marrow donors. In total, 149 names are on the list.

Cody Baker, of Ladder 59 in The Bronx, was one of the new honorees.

The FDNY celebrates lives saved through bone marrow donation at its headquarters in downtown Brooklyn every year.

Honorees got the chance to meet those whose lives they saved.
