FDNY identifies 3 kids killed in West 165th Street apartment fire

HIGHBRIDGE - Fire officials have confirmed that three children are dead after a massive apartment fire in Highbridge.

Authorities say the children were discovered inside the apartment at 64 West 165th Street. The victims have been identified as 5-year-old Elijah Artis, 2-year-old Jeremiah Artis and 4-month-old Michael Turner.

A 25-year-old female, 4-year-old female and 4-month-old female survived the blaze, having suffered smoke inhalation. They are in stable condition.

Three others were injured, but have not been identified.

The fire was first called in shortly before 8 p.m. It quickly grew to a two-alarm fire before being brought under control at around 9:10 p.m.
