FEMA approves federal aid for The Bronx

Help is on the way for Bronx residents dealing with problems stemming from Irene. Many are now eligible for individual federal and state aid. The

CLASS POINT - Help is on the way for Bronx residents dealing with problems stemming from Irene. Many are now eligible for individual federal and state aid.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved federal disaster aid for homeowners and renters in The Bronx.

FEMA funds may be used to pay rent, replace damaged property, as well as pay for medical, dental, funeral and burial expenses related to the storm.

FEMA is urging individuals in The Bronx who may be eligible for disaster assistance to apply and register online or by phone.
