FEMA says it can fund disaster relief

THE BRONX - The Federal Emergency Management Agency has a message for Bronx residents dealing with damage from this weekend's storm: Don't worry about getting disaster funds.

FEMA's funding has become an issue because there is less than $800 million remaining in the agency's disaster relief fund until the end of the fiscal year next month.

But FEMA Director Craig Fugate says the agency has the money for immediate recovery efforts.
