THE BRONX - Students from across the city showed off their musical skills Wednesday at the third annual Education Through Music Festival.

Students took the stage at Lehman College's Center for the Performing Arts. The young musicians are from ETM's partner schools, which try to make music a part of students' everyday lives.

"Children who have studied all year long are coming together and showing what they have learned," said Katherine Damkohler, executive director of Education Through Music. "It's a great day for the school and a great way to celebrate music education."

The program focuses on musical development, academic achievement and building students' self-esteem.
