MORRISANIA - A senior citizen apartment complex in Morrisania has made major improvements to the building.

News 12 The Bronx first visited the Findlay Teller Apartments in 2010. Camera crews were greeted with mold, cracks in the ceiling and a problem with mice. Joe Cicciu, the executive director of the Belmont Arthur Avenue Local Development Corporation, took the apartments over and a year later, a $20 million grant was awarded to renovate the building. The grant was funded by many organizations, including Chase, the National Equity Fund and New York City.

The crews cleaned up the more than 150 apartments and installed new heating and electric systems. Tenants say they're grateful for the changes to the building.

Cicciu says crews are still working on some other projects, but are expected to be finished with everything by September.
