FDNY crews knocked down a fire that ripped through a six-story building at 1240 Westchester Ave. this morning. The fire started at around 8 a.m.

Firefighters had the blaze under control in about 15 minutes.

THE BRONX - FDNY crews knocked down a fire that ripped through a six-story building at 1240 Westchester Ave. this morning.

The fire started at around 8 a.m. in an apartment on the third floor. Firefighters had it under control in about 15 minutes.

No one was hurt, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
