Fire destroys 8 Kingsbridge Terrace apartments

THE BRONX - Several Bronx families were left picking up the pieces Monday after a fire destroyed two floors of an apartment building.

The flames broke out at around 9 p.m. Sunday on the third floor of 2700 Kingsbridge Terrace before spreading to the fourth. Hugo Quezada, whose parents live in the building, says the Red Cross surveyed the damage and declared the apartment a total loss.

Fire officials say eight apartments were destroyed, but all the residents inside escaped uninjured.
