Fire rips through Morris Park Boxing Club

THE BRONX - An early morning fire destroyed the well-known Morris Park Boxing Club Tuesday, leaving many children and adults without a place to train.

Fire officials say the flames broke out inside the first-floor gym at 640 Morris Park Ave. and then spread to the second floor, where tenants lived. No one was hurt in the fire.

Aaron Davis, the owner of Morris Park Boxing Club, says he has insurance on the gym and plans to rebuild it as soon as possible.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
