Fire rips through Wakefield building

WAKEFIELD - A blaze erupted in Wakefield early Friday morning forcing half a dozen families onto the streets and into the frigid cold.

Officials say the fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. at 729 East 219th St.

Seven people were sent to the hospital including two firefighters. 

Officials say the fire started on the second floor of the building.  Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
