Fire tears through Sedgwick Ave. home

THE BRONX - An overnight fire ripped through a house on Sedgwick Avenue, leaving three firefighters with minor injuries.

The three-alarm fire broke out at 2270 Sedgwick Ave. early Saturday morning, reducing the residence shared by a brother and sister to a charred hull.

Fire officials say the flames ignited in the back of the house and spread quickly, fueled by heaps of newspapers and other items cluttering the rooms.

The exact cause of the fire is still being investigated.
