THE BRONX - A firefighter was taken to the hospital after responding to a blaze at 1775 Weeks Ave. this morning.

The deputy chief was taken away after he complained of chest pains following the fire. None of the residents in the apartment building were injured.

The Red Cross is assisting the 12 people displaced by the fire.
