Fitness flash mob aims to end obesity at BX school

THE BRONX - A fitnesss flash mob at I.S. 123 got students grooving to music and working out.

More than 200 students at the school got together and learned a choreographed dance to a song by Beyonce. Teachers and staff also participated saying the activity helped them exercise.

The program is part of the 'Let's Move' campaign started by first lady Michelle Obama. The initiative aims to curb obesity nationwide and encourage healthy eating.

Students said although they woke up early each morning to practice, their hard work paid off.
