Flags flown at half-staff for Ariz. shooting victims

THE BRONX - Flags are being flown at half-staff in the Bronx and the rest of the country today for the victims of Saturday's shooting rampage in Arizona.

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) is still fighting for her life in the hospital after being shot during a political event in Tucson. Other victims included a federal judge and 9-year-old Christina Taylor-Green, who was the granddaughter for former Yankees and Mets manager Dallas Green.

Police say they have arrested 22-year-old Jared Loughner for the shooting. They say he is mentally unstable and facing several charges, including attempted assassination.

News 12 The Bronx spoke with Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-The Bronx), who says his thoughts and prayers are with Giffords and her family. He says he considers her a very close friend.
