Flames erupt inside East 167th Street apartment building

It was a startling start to the day for many residents who woke up to a fire inside their East 167th Street building. Witnesses say

THE BRONX - It was a startling start to the day for many residents who woke up to a fire inside their East 167th Street building.

Witnesses say the flames broke out at around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday on the top floor of the five-story building. They say no one was in the apartment at the time.

Firefighters quickly got the blaze under control and say no injuries were reported.
