THE BRONX - The Food Bank of New York fears it may run out of food ahead of the holidays following federal budget cuts and cuts to the food stamp program.

Pantries say the number of visitors will only increase and create a tighter squeeze as the temperature continues to drop.

There is hope Congress will be able to pass a new farm bill by the end of the year to alleviate the cuts.
