THE BRONX - A Fordham father is recovering after being hit by a car.

Nestor Encarnacion says he was hit on Davidson Avenue Monday as he was walking to his car around 10:30 a.m.

"I'm halfway through the street, and this red Toyota comes, takes the corner exceedingly fast," he says.

Encarnation was treated at Saint Barnabas Hospital. While doctors say he didn't suffer any fractures in the incident, he says he has bad back pain.

The victim says he has a good idea of who was driving the car that hit him, and adds that the driver is someone from the neighborhood. Encarnacion says he hopes the driver does the right thing and turns himself in.

The NYPD says it is investigating the incident, and that as of now, there is a formal complaint on file for leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
