Fordham Plaza may be getting a facelift

(08/11/10) THE BRONX - Officials are looking into revamping Fordham Plaza.

The plans entail making the area more pedestrian-friendly, including an increase in trees and farmers market-type businesses in the square. Officials are also eyeing making nearby roads available to buses only.

The plans stem from the results of a study performed by a government-hired urban planning firm.

The Fordham Road Business Improvement District said it also wants to be involved in the redesign process.
