THE BRONX - A former gang member is now helping dozens of teens at his boxing gym.

Ponce Laspina, who grew up in the South Bronx, was once the leader of the Savage Skulls gang. He now runs the Juan La Porte Boxing Gym, which he opened in 2003. He says his gym has become a second home to the many teens he mentors and teaches.

Laspina says his ultimate dream is for his students to become champions and return to the gym as mentors and teachers themselves.
