Franklin Ave. building without water on Easter

THE BRONX - Hundreds of Franklin Avenue tenants remain without water on Easter Sunday after it was shut off Friday for maintenance.

The superintendent at 1100 Franklin Ave. says he turned the water off to stop the flooding in the building, but residents say the standing water has yet to be cleaned up.

Dozens of tenants, including children and some seniors with disabilities, had to trek up a hill to get water for their tubs, toilets and sinks from a nearby Laundromat.

Residents say they have repeatedly called the management company and 311, but the water has not been restored.
