THE BRONX - City agencies such as the Department of Education are trying to fix the low success rate of New Yorkers taking the GED.

They have launched a GED compass program, which will help with centralizing information to prepare and register for the test.

More than 1.5 million people in New York City do not have their high school diplomas and of those who try to take the GED, only 48 percent pass.
