THE BRONX - The Georgia woman who claimed one of two Mega winning lottery tickets this week spent her early years growing up in the Bronx.

Ira Curry once lived in the Lambert Houses in West Farms before moving down south.

Lottery officials say Curry is splitting this week’s $636 million Mega Millions jackpot with another winner from California, and will take home a lump sum payout of nearly $120 million after taxes.

News 12 spoke to residents of Curry's former housing complex who say her two sisters have been living there for years. Friends of the family also added that the money couldn't be going to more deserving people.

Curry's win is the second largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.
