Andrew Candeler says he didn't think about his own safety when he tried to help the young girl.

THE BRONX - One of the good Samaritans who jumped into action during a weekend dog attack in the Bronx says he didn't think about his own safety.

The dog was seen on surveillance video as it gets loose, sprints across Webster Avenue, near Morrisania, and mauls a 4-year-old girl.

Andrew Candeler is one of several people who tried to tear the pit bull away and eventually helped rescue the young victim.

The girl was treated at the hospital and is OK. There is no word yet on what will happen to the dog.
