CITY ISLAND - With the primary election next month, Republican mayoral candidates Joe Lhota and John Catisimatidis visited City Island tonight to talk with prospective voters.

Former MTA chief Lhota and billionaire entrepreneur Catsimatidis attended the City Island Civic Association meeting, where they shared their plans for the city and took questions from the audience.

The two candidates spoke on many issues such as improving city schools and reducing violent crime.

Lhota, a Bronx native who grew up in City Island, proudly told the crowd the campaign stop felt like a homecoming to him.
