THROGGS NECK - Gov. Andrew Cuomo has ordered the Port Authority and other officials to discuss how to reduce the noise levels around New York City airports.

The Port Authority will be working with the Federal Aviation Administration and local politicians to think of ways to reduce noise levels that have been bothering nearby residents for decades.

The Port Authority says its goal is to address communities' noise concerns while still supporting the growth of airports.

Two roundtable discussions are scheduled for next month, but Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-14th District) says he hopes more will be scheduled. Crowley says residents will be kept updated on new developments in the discussions to reduce noise levels.
