THE BRONX - Residents at a South Bronx housing complex are now able to grow their own fresh produce year-round.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Wednesday at the Intervale Green development where a new greenhouse was built for tenants to plant fruits, vegetables and herbs, even during winter months.

Developers say it's important for tenants to have fresh quality produce right where they live.

Intervale Green is the nation's largest multi-family, ENERGY STAR certified affordable housing unit.
