THE BRONX - Bronx residents who have been on the wrong side of the law are gearing up to tour the nation promoting peace through music.

The Peace December artists are comprised of individuals from gangs such as the Bloods and Crips. Other artists on the tour were had previously been homeless.

Mike Jay, a two-time Grammy-nominated recording artist and city peace ambassador, hand-selected the group members to embark on the "Mics up Tour." He says that one obstacle in getting the group off the ground was being able to come together as a family.

Each song performed by the group will bring with it a message of peace to 22 cities nationwide.

The tour kicks off in July.
