THE BRONX - Several groups handed out leaflets in the Bronx Wednesday advocating human rights for Muslim New Yorkers amid a 90-day travel ban barring citizens of seven predominately Muslim countries from entering the United States.

The groups included the Department of Consumer Affairs and the Department of Immigrant Affairs and Human Rights.

Group members stood at 12 different subway terminals across the city, including in the Parkchester neighborhood of the Bronx and handed out literature containing information about their campaign called ‘One New York Day of Action.’

The group says it is providing Muslim residents with resources to make them feel safer in their communities and at work.
