Groups hand out light bulbs in South Bronx to low-income families

THE BRONX - A number of Bronx groups distributed light bulbs to low-income families in the South Bronx today for a third consecutive year.

The Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition, along with Citgo of Venezuela and Mothers on the Move, gave out 39,000 compact fluorescent light bulbs to help reduce energy costs for low-income families while protecting the environment.

The Bronx is one of 21 areas around the country participating in the program.

Each individual took home a box of 10 light bulbs. Free light bulbs are always available at the Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition or at Mothers on the Move.
