A gun was stolen from an off-duty female officer while she was assaulted in Williamsbridge. According to the NYPD, a young man approached the officer at around 5:30 a.m. in the basement parking garage of a residential building on Bronx Boulevard and East 226th Street.

THE BRONX - Police now have a photo of the suspect who attacked an off-duty officer Wednesday morning.

A 41-year-old off-duty police officer known as Nilda was on her way to work early Wednesday morning when she was attacked inside the parking garage of her building on Bronx Boulevard.

Investigators the victim's gun was inside her purse. The attacker punched her in the face before taking off with both her weapon and bag.

Tenant Teresa Dotel says that she had seen the attacker before and had missed him by just a few minutes before the victim was attacked Wednesday.

"I saw this guy last week on Thursday and I told my husband, 'you see I saw this guy, he doesn't live in this building he doesn't park in this parking,'" says Dotel.

Police describe the suspect as approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark pants.
