Hammer suspect shot by police arrested

MANHATTAN - The hammer-wielding Bronx man who was shot by police in Manhattan Wednesday has now been arrested and charged. 

Investigaotrs say 30-year-old David Baril is seen on surveillance video near Penn Station taking a swing at a female officer before being shot by her partner. 

The NYPD had been searching for Baril since Monday after he allegedly attacked others with a hammer. 

Baril faces seven counts of felony assault and is charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
