Hanging tree branch removed from Bronx park

A dangling tree branch has been removed from the Watson Gleason playground after parents and residents made numerous calls to the city?s Department of Parks

SOUNDVIEW - A dangling tree branch has been removed from the Watson Gleason playground after parents and residents made numerous calls to the city?s Department of Parks and Recreation.

The branch had been precariously hanging over the playground for three weeks.

Parents say they were worried about the branch falling and injuring someone, especially after a branch fell and killed an infant this past weekend in Central Park.

The department says it doesn't patrol parks for hanging tree branches, but says it will respond to complaints filed to 311.
