THE BRONX - A new construction project on Harding Avenue near Pennyfield Avenue in the Bronx is causing traffic congestion and frustration.

The city's Department of Design and Construction spokesperson says the sewer rehabilitation project will extend the lifespan of the existing pipes.

The short-term project is making it difficult for large vehicles and buses to turn, as well as blocking some street parking spaces.

One worker News 12 the Bronx spoke with says the technique that's being used is preventing the need for the street to be dug up.

The project should be completed by the weekend.
