THE BRONX - One local shop celebrated and welcomed people inside as part of National Record Store Day.

Glenn Velger, owner of Harmony Records, located on Unionport Road, says it's a day that he waits for all year. He says he can put whatever vinyl visitors wish to hear on his turntables, bringing back memories of classic songs.

National Record Store Day started in 2007, at a time when Velger says not many people cared or knew about the now-annual tradition, but it’s now gaining increased popularity.

One visitor from Canada says she made sure to find a Bronx record store while in the area to support great old-school music.
